Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the NCLEX-RN Thinking Program and Nursing Success Academy.

About the Program

Who is this program for?
The NCLEX-RN Thinking Program is designed specifically for internationally-trained nurses preparing for the NCLEX-RN exam. If you graduated nursing school outside the United States and need to pass the NCLEX to practice in the US, this program is for you.
I already studied with UWorld / Kaplan / Archer. How is this different?
Those platforms give you practice questions and assume you already think like an American nurse. They test clinical reasoning — they don’t teach it. Our program focuses on teaching you the clinical reasoning framework first, so you can answer any question — including theirs — correctly.
How long is the program?
The program is structured over 12 weeks, but it’s entirely self-paced. You can go faster or slower depending on your schedule. Most students complete it in 8–14 weeks.
Is this for NCLEX-RN only, or also NCLEX-PN?
The program is designed for the NCLEX-RN exam. However, because the clinical reasoning framework is the same, many NCLEX-PN candidates have also found value in the core modules.
Does the program cover Next-Gen NCLEX (NGN)?
Yes. Weeks 5 and 6 are dedicated entirely to NGN question formats, including the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model and step-by-step templates for every NGN item type.
I’ve already failed the NCLEX. Will this help?
Absolutely. Most of our students have attempted the NCLEX before. The program is designed to address the specific reason international nurses fail: the clinical reasoning gap. If content knowledge wasn’t your problem — reasoning was — this program fills that gap.

NCLEX General

What is the NCLEX-RN?
The NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses) is the standardized exam required to practice as an RN in the United States. It tests clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and nursing judgment.
Why do international nurses have lower pass rates?
International nursing programs emphasize medical knowledge and memorization. The NCLEX tests American clinical reasoning — a fundamentally different approach to patient care decisions. This creates a 35–40% pass rate gap that’s not about knowledge, but about how you think.
What is the Next-Gen NCLEX (NGN)?
The NGN introduced new question formats in 2023 that test clinical judgment more directly. These include case studies, matrix/grid items, drag-and-drop, highlight, and extended multiple response questions. Our program covers all NGN formats in Weeks 5–6.
